Switching from LR to Capture8 How to email pic?
I am switching over from LR to Capture One Pro 8. In LR there is a menu to email photos. Where is that menu in Capture One? Basically how do I send an email. Please be specific as I am brand new to Capture one! Thanks in advance!!

CO doesn't have that functionality. You have to export a suitably sized jpg and then attach it to your usual email client. 0 -
First off, I am giving instructions from a Mac point of view.
Secondly, I am assuming that you are using a built-in mail app like Mail or Outlook.
Now here's the quick and dirty:
You have to set up a process recipe. Once done, its straight forward.
First go to the process recipe tool tab. It looks like a little gear.
Once inside, you will see a few prefabbed recipes. You can choose one of these if you like, or create a new one.
Lets just choose one thats already there to get you going.
Pick "Jpeg QuickProof sRGB"
Now that you have clicked on that recipe, you should see some options under Process Recipe (its in the singular unlike process recipe(s) above.
In the "Basic" tab you will see "Open With"
Click on that and a dropdown will appear. If you don't see your mail application, then click "other" and find it.
Choose your mail application, and its now set up.
Highlight and check the box next to the recipe and any photo you process will be processed with that recipe.
When you click "process"at the bottom of the Process Tool Tab C1 will process your file, place the processed file in a folder, and open it in whatever application you chose.
So if you choose a recipe and go back to the browser tab, you can then select several photos and process them to be opened in your mail app.
To keep from having to go from tab to tab, just highlight your target photos and hit "Command+D" and it will then process all the photos selected.
Note that you can have several recipes checked and C1 will process using each and every one of the recipes chosen.
And one more thing: copies of the photos processed are actually placed in a folder. So you may wanna clean that folder up every now and then.
The location of that folder is under "file" in the process recipe tab.
Now that you have a basic understanding how a recipe works, you can create one of your own and name it "E-Mail"
By the way, I chose "quickproof" as the format for a reason.
C1 allows referenced photos to be emailed when you use the QuickProof format.
What this means is that if you store all of your original files on an external drive, that external drive Does Not have to be connected in order to email the photo. This is huge if you like to work on your files in the field, say a laptop on the beach 😄0 -
Good explanation Jimmy, I forgot about using "Open With" with an email client, would speed things up tremendously. 0 -
I have started to use this process. The issue I have is that each image goes into a new email instead of all into one. Am I doing something wrong? 0 -
I cannot choose my mail client (mail). It is greyed out. Any ideas?
Thanks

The other problem you are going to have is a bunch of images somewhere, unlike the other programs CO8 will not clean up itself after delivering the image to the email program. (Ok really can't comment on LR, but never had to do any clean up after emailing through Aperture.)
So, until things change, may as well set up a recipe for the output size/type to a temp directory. Process the recipe, open the temp folder do a Command-A, them menu->share->mail, once the email is open go back to the other window and hit Command-delete.

No, You are doing it right as far as I have explained it. I Normally don't send more than one image at a time so I didn't think about that. Sorry.
I just tried it on my end and had the same issue.
What Phaseoneuser55657 said is pretty much on the money if you wanna send more than one image. Except I would just drag-n-drop the photos from the temp folder to mail.0
