    The mini (4pin) firewire Windows machines and in particular HP is so fond of does indeed not provide power to the peripheral device. Can it provide in its own power?

    Also, see my post from yesterday here in the forum of what might be a similar issue with the Windows firewire driver with > 4GB RAM.

    You wrote one of the best documented posts here by the way. Kudos.

    Not able to advise at this detailed level. Best to contact your dealer or Phase One support directly. They are way more experienced here.

    This is a user-to-user forum, moderated by Phase One. You're always welcome to share and ask, but fortunately Phase One has a support staff available as well.

    Hi,

    I just wanted to let you know I'm using a P65+ with a windows7(64bit) computer, and am running it though a firewire card. I can't get to the card right now to double check it's specs, but I wanted to let you know it IS possible, and don't return the P65+, it's an excellent piece of gear.
    We've got the back connected to a Hassleblad H2, though that doesn't make a difference since it's the DB the card talks with.
    A big stumbling block was getting the right drivers installed. Does the device manager see the P65 at all?
    I'll get those firewire specs up here as soon as I can.

    CL

    I haven't seen a support case from the OP yet but can suggest the following;
    http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=NN-EC2012-S1
    with http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=NN-ADA011-S1

    Although I have not tested this specific component on the previously mentioned system, given my track record with SIIG products and Windows 7 64 bit I think it will do the trick.
