Importing RAW files from CF card slow in v.8.1

I never had this problem before but now in 8.1PRO importing the RAW files from my CF card takes ages. I mean the importer shows just about three thumbnails than it waits about 20 seconds before showing another few and so on. 49 files takes about 5 minut to show the previews. And than I have to import them all into C1 and that's another wait !!! I have USB3.0 Lexar Dual-Slot Reader and it was working blisteringly fast in v.7. What can I do to speed it up ???

  I don't know that this is Capture One's conflict to fix.
  There could arguably be a slowdown with 8.1 and preview generation when compared to Capture One 7 but in no way would that reflect what you have described (20 seconds or 5 Minutes for ~50 files). If it could even be measured, it would be fractions of a second, not minutes.
  I'd suggest you create a support case and include a Screen Recording of what you are seeing. Something that slow is likely a system access issue, not a software issue.

  To workaround this, have you tried to firstl copy or move the files from the card to the internal HD?

  Why would you need to do that?
  If access to the Storage Media is correct, you should have the same (or quite comparable) results.
