    Bill,

Try these links - there are many videos, both long and short, out there. Not just webinars. PhaseOne have a "getting started" one that may help.

Good luck - you won't regret it.

    Bill,

There is a lot of material available online about how to use Capture One: YouTube videos, blogs, and this forum for starts. Could you describe what you are specifically trying to accomplish? For example, do you need help figuring out how to use layers, do a basic crop, etc? I think with that in mind we can point you to a specific source that describes the process.

Otherwise, I would say just dive in and learn through practice. Work those sliders left and right and see what they do. What's the worst thing that could happen? Nothing, really. 😉

    Hi,
I'm writing in the hope that someone can tell me where to go to get the very basic information for this software. The webinars, while inspiring, don't do anything for someone who does not know where to start, literally.
Can you link me to a possible pdf or ebook to buy that will get me going.
I bought this over lightroom because it will tether my Sony a6000 and Adobe does not. LR has many books written about it but nothing seems to be available to get me started with C1 Pro8 for Sony.
    Thank you for any assistance.

    Bill

Start with the online tutorials... The webinars are great, but more in-depth. Start with these... Working your way down the list..

The online Help is quite a good quick reference for general principles and commonly used functional details.

The first thing I would suggest you do is read about and understand that Capture One offers two approaches to image "filing". Sessions and Catalogs. You can use both side by side for different purposes if you wish but do understand what they offer and how they suit your preferences for working.

In conjunction with that look at what Import offers and how that fits into your preferred approach to editing. Once you are comfortable with those features you will have your files under control and can concentrate on the enjoyment to be obtained from RAW file conversion and the editing process.

    HTH.

If you like video tutorials then the Luminous Landscape video is a good place to start. Its based on CO v7 but 95% of it will relate to version 8.
