I was hoping for...
...Scrolling in the adjustments panes.
I love everything about this software except for this one thing. I absolutely hate that when I toggle open one adjustment panel it automatically closes another because it's out of room. So I waste too much time looking for things.
This is the ONE thing from Lightroom that I sorely miss.
Any chance of implementing this is an upgrade?

Have you considered re-constructing the tools tabs and creating a few personalised tabs to give sets of tools that naturally fit together in your work flow AND allow you to keep related "sets" of tools open as and when you need them? No scrolling required?
Maybe some tailored Workspaces depending on the current task?
Or perhaps use of the hot key shortcuts to move between tools and function and thus avoid any need to scroll?
I use these options to some extent although as time has passed and my workflow has changed little, I don't find myself worried about the occasional inconvenience despite using what are, these days, more or less the "stock" tabs and tools offering.
I write this in the spirit of trying to help you find an immediate approach to a better way rather than waiting for some possible future development.
HTH.

Thanks, Grant.
I have played with the customizable Quick Tool panel, but even there I end up with too many favorites. lol
Just seems quicker to me to scroll up/down rather than have to move back and forth between several tabs.0 -
IF this is the case, I for sure will not upgrade. That would drive me insane. Are you sure there is no way to turn this on?
I have my menus heavily customized and refuse to spend time re-learning, just to probably have it all change again in one years time. So when I try the v12 out, I plan to re-do the menu system to identical as much as I can, to what I am so used to. If the menu does not let me scroll, then this little thing to some, is a major problem for me.
Have they finally made the editing menu and the browser strip sticky when one goes into full screen mode or do I have to go and make both appear each and every time, like for the last three releases.
I bought the software originally when version 3 was released (the company bought it for me, actually) for the speed of the workflow and the way I could move fast through multiple steps. It's ALL about the ergonomics of working with the software for myself, I don't give any weight to "quality" improvements to the processed files, I've long been happy with the look. But screw up my "Zen" with C1, and I've lost what has kept me here.
Well, two things kept me using C1, actually. The workflow and the fact of no subscription, as an option. I see now that my version 9 license can be upgraded for U.S $ 189 and my v10 license for $169. They used to upgrade every two or three years, then every year. I got the v7-v9 upgrade for $89, then I think it was $119 for my other license to go from v8 to v10. I always skipped like that with my two sets of licenses, not for the savings, but to have the latest and still have an older version in case things started crashing. Now they penalize you, and jack up the prices - with no advance warning, AND they change everything around. I'm. going to try it out, but for the first time since 2012 I am actually considering it other than an impossibility to go to a subscription, back to Adobe or to try one of the new converters such as Irident.

Pavel,
Have you customised the top row drop down menus?
If so, how did you do that?
Or was it the tools in the tool tabs?

the tools in the tool tab. I don't believe that the menus are customizable, but in any case I've never used them. Keyboard shortcuts are what I use most of the time and the tools tabs, being able to be set up in a way that one's mind works, really help me in my workflow. 0 -

The regular default tool tabs will be updated with every new release. Sometimes, if there fundamental changes of some sort - a replacement tool or a renaming perhaps - one has to revise one's personalisations. But mainly if the changes are saved to a personal workspace with its own name they should be preserved and re-usable for the next release.
There are also custom tool tab options of course. Again these should preserve any settings a user has created.
That said I have found myself gettign lazty about these personalisation in the recent releases as the standard grouping provided seem to be closer and closer to my needs. Or perhaps my approach is getting closer and closer to the way that the tools have been grouped in the tabs ... 😉
