Tools and browser won't auto hide in full screen mode

Hi
I'm using a surface Go for travelling and I can't get the tools and browser to auto hide when in full screen mode. I can use Ctrl T to hide the tools but would like it to auto hide. It works fine on my iMac but not the surface go.
