MP was perfect, now does nothing; do what?

I started with Expression Media and had nothing but problems.When Media Pro came out, suddenly everything worked like a charm, even better than advertised. What a joy.
Now I cant get it to do anything, just like before. Suddenly, just selecting 69 thumbnails gives me the infinite twirling ball. Worse, Now the program wont even open. Back to complete un-usability. I cant even reinstall it cuz "crash reporter is in use" yet it seems to be nowhere to close. Alas, it was fun while it lasted. Now what?

    Now this is odd. Until this set back, Media Pro was working so good on OSX Lion.
    Now in order to get something done, I went back to a snow leopard disk, out of Lion.
    In Snow Leopard, MP only gives me "read only", claiming Lion is using this catalogue.
    This is even while that disk is UNmounted ! I'm starting to fear what happened with
    my earlier experiences with this software. Somewhere very deep in the system there
    is a conflict and who knows what? I suspect I had good luck with Lion because it
    was a fresh installation and less other software was in place. Anyone?

    Cant even make MP reader work. Wow, what a lot of work lost to have all these catalogues unavailable.

    Now I cant even reinstall cuz "crash reporter is in use", tho I sent it along ago. C'mon programmers, do a better job !!

    I reinstalled my system OSX Lion and MP worked nicely for about 10 minutes, then I'd get a minute spinning ball.
    10 more minutes, another minute stall, etc., so I limped thru the project. Later when I opened the catalogue again,
    MP detects an error in the catalogue, and after corrections, I've lost 7000 of the 12000 records. Now today I open MP, but
    it would not open, so I reinstall from the web dmg, probably the 15th time this week. Now whats left of that decimated catalogue is going thru another error check. This cataloguing photo assets is just too important to live on the edge like this, always fearing I'm gonna lose thousands of key worded records. I'll take this up with support. I guess I'll try moving "up" from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1

    More wrinkles: hmm, Now I am really lost, cuz suddenly everything appears as it should, even tho everything happened as I wrote above. Uh oh, now the program wont open and we need another re-install, except that phantom crash reporter is in the way. What will I see then?

    Mister z, are you sure this is (only) about MP1?
    I myself also am confinced that the product has to much imperfections but the issues You described are new for me.
    My impression is that maybe there are more variables on your system that are changed recently?

    I dont really know the inside details of computer behavior to give you a clear answer.
    I only know what I have written, which is clearly a difficulty in using MP, but no
    other software ever in my life like this. CS5 & web suite, Word, are my majors.
