  This is what I tell the "children" in my classroom (preparing a CO7 training now):
  - more detail in general and in the red channel in particular; resulting in a brilliant 3D look (more depth)
  - better noise reduction (your old high ISO images look so much better)
  - better white balance of difficult light conditions (tungsten/candlelight for example)
  - HDR tool is much more effective and often less needed; pale sky with a bit of blue between clouds are not white as a blanket anymore
  
  Sometimes the differences are subtle, sometimes it makes the day.
