High DPI support on win8.1?
Before I upgrade from 7, I would like to know if 8 supports high dpi displays?
The interface of 7 is miniscule on my Dell M3800 (native is 3200x1800) and I have to switch to a lower screen resolution in order to easily use it.

There is with new UI-look. However, why don't you try the 60 day trial? Then you can see for yourself. 0 -
My Asus quad-wide 27" screen isn't as high-res as yours but I have to scale display elements to 125% in Windows 8.1 so that Photoshop menus are legible. With that setting, C1 Pro 7 & 8 are both fine, in fact still more legible than Photoshop.
Hope this helps

Okay I installed it, but there is no difference in how 7 and 8 appears on this display. It is far too small to use at the native resolution. Text and icons are maybe a millimeter or two tall. Using Windows' scaling has no effect here, and negatively affects other programs that work fine.
Photoshop used to suffer a similar problem, but the release of CC 2014 in June fixed it (mostly, a few issues here and there still)
For comparison, Lightroom scales its interface correctly on here.0 -
Keep in mind the issue isn't 3200x1800, its that is 3200x1800 crammed into 15 inches. On a 27" display, this would likely be fine.
In Photoshop CC 2014 Adobe addressed it by creating the 'Experimental Features' area in preferences, with an option to scale the UI at 200% for high density displays. This option would be hugely beneficial in Capture One, and even a necessity as newer Windows machines begin using these.
I've had this computer since January and each time I want to use C1, I have to turn down the resolution of the display, but this is not ideal because it's kind of blurry.0 -
Please write our Support. It's a fact that CO8 has a scalable interface, so something is wrong, and our Support can help you figuring out was is wrong. 0 -
Where is the interface scaling option? I do not see it in preferences.
It is my understanding that programs that are high dpi aware (like C1, and photoshop) sidestep Windows' built in scaling and need to provide their own method for doing so.0 -
It's controlled via the Windows scaling, just like many other applications. 0 -
This appears to be incorrect. I can confirm I am adjusting windows' scaling (in Control Panel's Display) and this does nothing to Capture One, but it does make other applications cartoonishly scaled.
High DPI aware programs are not affected by Windows' scaling options.
Is there a way to attach items to these forum messages? Pictures are much easier to show.0 -
One possible important variable: I am using a dual monitor set up. I put the tools for C1 on the 3200x1800 15" display, and use the Viewer window on a LaCie 1280x1024 display for viewing the adjustments.
It's like Capture One is using the LaCie's resolution to set its UI size, even though the tools are on the much higher density display.0
