It could be that jpegs straight from the camera are corrected for distortion by the S95 firmware.
Other raw converters may be correcting distortion automatically.
However, I do not think that C1 does it for the S95, but I could be wrong.

Maybe you could try to shoot in Jpeg+raw a scene with structured lines (brick wall, window...) and check the difference in output.

Do you have access to distortion correction under the "lens" tool in C1?

thanks for the reply. i shot jpegs and raw but it only seems to affect the raws. yes I can use the distortion correction tool but need a 120% correction to bring it back to a normal appearance.... weird.

Interesting, I also recently bought an S95 and have only used it once shooting raw only, I also noticed quite a lot of perspective distortion when processing them in C1, albeit only on the wide side and certainly not a fish eye look, it did however require pushing the distortion correction tool all the way to the right to straighten them.

I assumed this was caused by the lens?

I'm curious, has anybody else noticed this?

Yes, this is a known issue.
Currently correcting for distortion manually and applying to all of your images (as the distortion remains the same throughout) is the correct workaround. We hope to address this in the future.
