    This is a loaded question which I can not give you a good answer on.
    The fact is following. Canon has a very open policy where any one can download and use the SDK package which allows integration with Canon cameras, there is a licensing policy you have to agree to but it very open.
    Nikon has a SDK as well however the license restriction prohibit the person or company to do any reverse engineering on the NEF format. This is other word means that Phase One would not be able to utilize the Phase One developing core when developing files but have to use Nikons developing core, in this case Capture One looses its strength. So unless Nikon redo the licensing agreement for the SDK it is not likely to gain Nikon tethered support.
