S90- correcting distortion like DPP does?
Can C1 correct for the lens distortion the way DPP does automatically on opening a file?
I can't see any controls that might help. This means all S90 files are distorted ☹️

David,
Automatically? No.
However if you have Capture One PRO (5) you can adjust the "Distortion" of the images and save a preset to allow for future implementation.0 -

That's great, thanks
Any recommended settings for the S90?0 -
David,
Not off the top of my head. Give the trial of PRO a shot and find the setting that works best for that camera's lens.0 -
I just bought the S90. The camera has a built in correction for jpg files as well as the Canon raw converter. If I want to use Capture One I can not correct for distorsion without uppgrading to PRO. This is not very satisfying or ... ? Or is it better not to apply any correction for distorsion in the raw converter?

I have the Pro version and have been happily fiddling with the distortion controls, I just wondered if some kind soul had worked out the best settings yet. Evidently not.
Still, the conversions are very good

I think I have discovered something interesting
Using a distortion setting of 97% on the S90 at it's widest angle (6mm) one can achieve a significantly wider angle shot than is available using DPP (or in-camera jpegs).
I have found 97% corrects verticals quite nicely but the same shot opened in DPP has the verticals corrected, but at the cost of losing a considerable amount on both sides of the frame - I would estimate about 2mm lens worth (i.e. the field of view of a 30mm lens compared with a 28mm lens)

I also have an S90 and CO standard edition.
I don't think CO standard should be expected to correct for s90 distortion just as it doesn't for any other camera/lens.
I do think pro version should correct for s90 distortion correctly without any user adjustment needed - that is do it as good or better than dpp does.0 -

it does for Leica DLux4 (& Panasonic LX3)0 -

I doubt - DLux4 was a special deal where C1 was like OEM raw converter... that market is grabbed by ISL (SilkyPix) - they sell to Panasonic/Pentax/Samsung............ Nikon/Canon/Olympus/Sigma are using their own software - Leica went w/ Adobe - Fuji & Sony I am not sure - do they have their own software or not, who is left on the table ? PhaseOne itself and H... and Canon is not exactly running to allow others to use the data for their lens correction0 -

The Leica - Phase One deal has changed a bit (no Capture One in the box due to the release of the Leica S2 = different story) but behind the scenes they still work closely regarding support for the compact and M-rangefinder models.0 -

Do not understand your opinion. LR does include lens correction of the SR90. Bibble has it as an option (which is the best way to go as i see it) and the in camera jpgs are corrected by the Camera. So why should LE not include correction? I do not understand why I have to upgrade to the Pro version for a camera that is not Pro but quite nice??
From a former happy user of SE who downgraded to LE:(

Just an opinion. Basic CO50 does not correct for any of my lenses with Canon DSLR. Not sure why it should for S90
I use PTLens which can correct for both developed RAW and out of camera jpeg from the s90, yes even the jpegs corrected in camera still have some distortion remaining.0
