Search Window Bug
This bug has been in Capture One since I started using it a couple of years ago. Not sure if it happens on Mac (I assume not and that's probably why it hasn't been fixed), but in windows, the search window doesn't automatically close when you use it. When it isn't closed, it overlays over EVERYTHING, even if Capture One is not in front.
Does anyone know a fix for this? It's getting pretty annoying, especially when I have multiple sessions open and I need to click through all the sessions to find the open search window.

ESC will close it.
It only seems to be a potential problem when presented as a minimised access to the main (off screen) filter and that is mainly when using a side browser.
If the browser is at the bottom of the screen or fills the screen (no viewer) the search section of the Browser toolbar seems to remain in the toolbar since there is space for it.
I find the floating version quite useful and practical compared to the potential alternatives. Often its a useful reminder that you have a filter in use. Or so I find.
You could make a suggestion for alternative functionality using a Support Case. That could be a good way to to find an alternative approach to the requirement.
HTH.

This was finally solved in the last update, unfortunately now the search box seems to get randomly selected and will start to fill if you use any keyboard shortcuts. I hate to say it was better the old way .... but it was. Hoping that a fix for this is coming soon, major headache for me.
