JPEG color difference between CO 4.8.3 and CO 5.0.2
Hello,
When I compared jpeg generated image from CO 4.8.3 and CO 5.0.2, I noticed there is a difference in color between the 2 version. The raw file is from 1D Mark III. What I saw on the screen on CO 4.8.3 is what I get when I generated the jpeg but what I saw in screen of CO 5.0.2 is not what I get from the 5.0.2 generated jpeg. The color in Jpeg from CO 5.0.2 is washed out.
I use exactly the same setting between the 2 version. Please help....
Thanks
Riza

What is your output profile on both 4.8.3 and 5.0.2 and how do you view your output JPEG in Vista? 0 -
Hi Paul,
Thanks for replying, in both version my output profile is Adobe RGB (hope I understand your question correctly) and I'm using windows viewer photo gallery (double click the JPEG file).
Thanks

FYI, the output profile is what you select on the output tab in the Process Recipe tool.0 -
Riza,
Depending on your adjustments some fine tuning may be necessary. As some tools in Capture One 5 are new or were simply improved there may be reason for slight change. Capture One 5 migrates the settings files over from Capture One 4 and when it does so it accounts for these adjustments.0 -
Hi Paul,
The output profile is Adobe RGB(1998)
Thanks

Hi Drew,
even when I generated the jpeg image straight from the camera (with no adjustment whatsoever) it came out differently. the color from CO 5 is washed out. I also noticed that the white balance value (kelvin & tint)) from the same raw file is differently intepreted in CO 5 and CO 4. When I change the value of white balance to be equal between the two, I still get different color jpeg image. CO 4 jpeg image is better for me but I like the feature in CO 5. On the screen of CO 5 the raw image file is displaying the same color as CO 4. The problem I think is when I generated the jpeg file. in CO 5, I didn't get what I saw.
Thanks

Riza,
If need be you can simply create a style so that Capture One 5 looks like the results you had in Capture One 4. Apply that gross adjustment to the images and then go from there. Granted you shouldn't have to do this, it's more of a band-aid solution until we look into it a bit more. Create a support case and give us some examples. If the findings are accurate then there is either room for adjustment before the next release or there is reason for the change and we can hopefully provide you a better explanation as to why.0
