Want to make sure my v4 experience is not unique
I just installed v.4 from the latest download. It works, but I'm troubled by how slow the program is to make previews available. Under v.3.7, all of the files were "added", then previews were created. If you selected a file, the preview for that file seemed to be created next, making it available quickly. Under v.4, it seems that files are added one at a time and one must wait for a file to be added and a preview created before the next file is even seen on the screen. So one isn't able to work with file 50 until all 49 files in front of it have been added and previews created.
Also, moving from one file to the next with v.4 seems to have a delay, while moving from one file to the next under v.3.7 was instantaneous.
I'm using a very clean quad-core with Vista 64bit.
Before I become disappointed, I want to make sure that my experience is normal. Are there settings or preferences that can be changed to make v.4 behave more like v.3.7 with regard to file management?
Thanks for your help.

yes, that's how it is now.

Hi John,
I have 2 steps 4 you 😉
1 - Read all posts (at first page is ok... ) and you will know many more bugs...
2 - Go back to 3.7 or change for ACR LR Bibble or Apperture... 😐

Nando, as this is a USER-TO-USER forum, your constant posting is growing increasingly annoying...and does nothing positive AFAIK.
Submit a support case if you wish, but realize that there are those who don't see the bugs, so it might not be the software rather the user....
...as regards the prior post, I'm running current version under Vista Ultimate, Quadcore...what issues are you seeing???0 -
I share the same problem, bought 5 licences for C4.1pro but I have switced back to 3.7.8 only because of this slow preview performance. I have tried it on 5 computers all qadcore dual processors, Vista 32 and vista 64 and with 4-8 GB memory and Terabytes of diskspace. I even called my computerstore to send a brand new computer to try with the same slow performance.
but.... the process in the co4 is fantastic, but far to slow. I shoot 150.000 pictures pro year, and have been very happy with 3.7.8 all the time, it´s speedy performance while flipiping through images.
You phase one guys realy need to work this problem out0
