shooting tethered CO4 PRO
I made the decision last night that I would finally use CO4 PRO tethered for a shoot I had today.
I tried it yesterday, briefly and it seemed fine so...
Well a couple of questions have arisen which some of you guys may help me with:
1-Why do some thumbnails change once I've changed the settings, but other's stay the same?
2-Can I not shoot with the custom white balance setting I have in-camera?
3-Is it possible to turn off the feature which keeps the settings the same for the next image I shoot?
There are other annoyances from today but the last question is more a bit of a dig, but I'm genuinely interested:
4-Why was it necessary to change CO3 PRO completely? Why could we not have kept it the same but simply added new features? Is it because it could not be done, or was it a conscious decision to scrap CO3. And, I'm not asking ironically, I am genuinely interested.

Stefan,
What camera are you using?0 -
Contax 645 with P45 back
I have been shooting tethered with CO3 PRO without any real problems, and I'm sure once I get into a routine with 4.5 it will be fine, but I was frustrated the other day.
I would have stuck with PRO3 but the extra speed of the processing is ultimately quite important. Having said that, it took longer for the image to appear on the screen.
The three sliders for exposure/contrast/saturation in CO3 were really easy to use and produced results I was very happy with. Now, especially with the saturation, the changes aren't as subtle, and on friday, at least, I wasn't able to easily get the colour balance I wanted (shooting products with flash on a white backdrop).
cheers for any thoughts0 -
OK
It's all relatively straightforward without the crowd in the studio looking over my shoulder.
Go to camera once tethered and choose the options there.
I can't seem to use my in-camera custom colour balance, so the thing to do is shoot a grey card for the first shot (primary variant) and have the rest of the shoot copy that setting. You can reset anytime by clicking reset.0
