Weird Rating & Coding Keyboard Shortcut Troubles

I'm having trouble rating / color coding my imported photos using keyboard shortcuts for most of the files in a directory. Imported a batch of photos from the day. I can color code / rate about 3-4 of the photos (and they're not in a row) using the keyboard, but not the other photos in the directory. I can still rate / color tag the other photos manually (using the mouse).

It's consistent in that if I go to another directory and come back, the files that worked for keyboard shortcuts continue to work. The ones that required me to use a mouse do not.

Brand new to Capture One from Adobe - I couldn't find a quick fix (probably something dumb / newbie simple that I'm doing 😊.

  I can't give you any direct help as your situation is not anything I have come across. However, take a look at this video tutorial and see if that sheds any light.
