Tiff files not showing in browser/thumbnail window 8.1
I can process a RAW file as a tiff which I can then see in Photo Mechanic but if I log onto the same folder with C1 8.1 the tiff file thumbnail is not visible. ( logging onto the same folder with my old 7.22 version does see the tiff thumbnail)
However if I right click on the thumbnail in Photo Mechanic and select open in capture one, C1 8.1 does indeed open and displays the Tiff image in the edit window and can be edited but the thumbnail is still not showing in the browser pane.

😊 OK all sorted. Thanks to reply from support team I see the hide processed Tiff global filter was ticked.
I know I hadn't gone into the view / global filter menu to tick it so either it's ticked by default which seems daft or more likely there' s an obscure keyboard shortcut I inadvertently activated. Will have to look into that one.0 -
It's a bug
I have faced to the same issue during the import in a session, but only for some of them.
after studing the difference between file, I saw the tiff file with an Alpha layer was never displayed.
Then I strip these file from this layer and now I can import them.
to do that, you can use 2 different tools
- GIMP

No, it is not.
The OP simply had a feature turned on unkowingly.
In regard to your findings, Capture One does not support Alpha Layers in TIFF display. This is not a bug, it is by design.0 -

May be the word "bug" is a little bit inadequate.
As I test C1 in order to know if I have an interest to move from a "more famous" sw to C1, the purpose of my messages are only to understand the issues and, as soon as I canto help to improve the usability of C1.
What I meant on this topic, was, the alpha layer is a standard of TIFF for years, and it seem strange to make the choice of the breaking interoprerabilty as soon as it is not related to a technical issue.
May be you should only warn the users that Tiff with alpha layer could not be properly displayed if this layer is use to manage transparency.

I appreciate the thought and it would be best served on another thread or perhaps your own.
Anyone coming across this thread please note the OP's concern was solved with a change to settings in the View>Global Filters tool.0
