    Edward,
    I think you should post this with the following thread;
    viewtopic.php?f=21&t=8387&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

    The users in that thread have been extremely helpful in getting us details about the trouble they too are having with Canon Tethering and we have had good success in the solutions we have provided. If you create a support case mention that thread and we can get you on the same page as them.

    i have submitted a support case but i am not able to get a hold of the capture computer anytime soon to get the crash logs. Regarding that thread, I do not use a CF card in the camera and the cables are fine. Obviously USB is not an ideal interface but I think there is something wrong on Capture One's end of things. Any situation where you are shooting kind of fast and do anything in the software causes a crash. If anyone hasa theory of how to avoid this please share. Also from force quitting a session so often (b/c of camera/software lockup) seems to lead to a corrupted session. Weird stuff happens like a thumbnail and preview window not showing the same image sometime. Anyway i'd like to see it fixed once and for all, otherwise I have to advise all of my canon shooting photographer clients to capture through bridge/lightroom where things run alot smoother.

    Edward,
    Again, I think your posts would be best posted on the previously provided thread as those users are reporting similar issues. Keeping all that information together will help all the users involved and perhaps the other users can offer suggestions.

    I am thinking of trying to use EOS utility to connect the camera and view in C1Pro5 using the hot folder setting. Never had a crash using that and Lightroom when C1Pro was moving from 3.7 to 4.5. Used that for over a year - just didn't like LR's color at the time. I guess just set the shot folder inside a session in the eos utility and view it in C1Pro 5, then change the destination folder in eos utility for the next shot. Anyone try this before?

    Many Canon DSLR shooters used the EOS Utility route while CO moved from 3.7 to 4.5 as you mentioned. Thanks to the hot folder function it is a great option. If you are on Snow Leopard, download the last version of EOS Utility (2.8.x).

    I believe the latest version of Canon DPP is 3.8.x, as of 2/26/10

    That's correct, but I believe it's EOS Utility that is doing the connectivity magic (for DPP or CO). That is why I referred to EOS Utility.

    Paul tells it like it is.... and it is Eos Utility 2.8.1.

    Edward,
    Please also update your Camera to firmware 2.0.3.
    We have just done so on our test camera and seen overall function improvement.
