Luma Range Masking
I just used this new feature of Capture One. Anyone thinking that the upgrade from 11 to 12 was too expensive should try this. Worth its weight in gold. What an amazing tool! This has already helped me out, and I'm sure would have been a great time and effort saver had I been able to use it in the past.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Agree. Whether it is a time saver for you, a new creativity tool or both, it is already worth the upgrade price. 0 -
I do a lot of luminosity masking in PS, so I didn't think it would be all that useful, but I was wrong. I use it a lot for final tweaks. Plus the implementation on working on the current mask and also being able to edit it is very nice. 0 -
The more I use this, increasingly in combination with the greatly enhanced gradient masking, the more I find it an indispensible tool.
Just one problem!
There is a keyboard shortcut for toggling between "Always display mask" and "Never display mask" (key 'M'). However, there is no option even to define a key for "Display mask only when drawing"! Is there some reason for this?0 -
Hi Michael,
As far as I can recall there has never been an option for a keyboard short cut for that selection.
I do not recall this subject being raised previously to I would imagine that no one - or rather no one who used the forum - is concerned with the lack of a short cut.
That said there may be a case for suggesting that it would be useful to provide a short cut key option. However I suspect that many users will choose either always show or show only when drawing the mask and never change between the two options.
I can see the potential use of the option so I would suggest that you create a Support Case and add "Enhancement Request" to the title line and see what the C1 development team have to say about it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have just submitted a support case. 0
