Maybe it's not too late for a refund?

You could try to import in multiple batches. Not all 40K at the same time.

That what I was doing, it's the only way it would import. After about 20K images in the catalog, it won't create any previews, no matter how small the batch. If I send a session over from C1, no previews ever get created. If I select on an image and switch to the media view the program becomes unresponsive. I've asked for a refund, purchased it the end of August. No response back from them. I will probably complain to my bank and have them do a chargeback due to the software not functioning as advertised.

Hmm, did you loged a support call for this already?

40.000 images should be no problem at all.
I never made the switch from Expression Media to MediaPro but the limit of 128.000 images per catalog should be solved in MediaPro. However, you never reached that number.

A second historic limit was 2 Gb for a catalog. At my knowledge, this should also be solved. You could take a look how big your catalog is at 20.000 imported images. When it's 2 Gb, maybe the limit still exists? In that case you could experiment with smaler previews.

Yes, I logged a support case, they asked me a few questions yesterday afternoon, which I promptly answered. They have not responded since. My catalog is about 700MB, so not all that big. Probably 1/2 of my images are D800 nef and photoshop layered tiffs, so large file sizes. That may be why the preview generation is having problems. The time I'm wasting trying to get this software to work is about to the point I ready to write it off as worthless to me.

Just wanted to post a final followup to my problems with Media Pro. Phase One is going to process a refund for me due to it not being a simple problem and the fact that I've spent many hours trying to make it work. Thanks to Phase One for stepping up and standing behind their product.
