Hi John
Cannot really answer your query since I use compact flash cards
I dont use the import feature as I always first save the raw files from the card /reader to a folder in MY PICTURES ("RAW DOWNLOADS" ) then copy to ext H/drive before using cap one at any time later
I then open this folder with cap one- then edit and process these to a sub folder ("RAW DEVELOPS ") under "RAW DOWNLOADS" which can also be saved to ext h/drive
Maybe you could try this for the sd card if you are still having problems
also read a previous post on the above Mon 16 June 2008 -page in forum -titled CAP 4.0 DISPLAYS
hope its been of interest if not much help !

Hi Brian,
Nice to hear from you, I was beginning to think that this was an unfriendly forum 😜 Thank you for the link,
I am importing pics along the same sort of lines as you at the moment, on my hard drive i have various folders each named with the type of pics that they contain these folders are also on my external drive for safeties sake, my pics are imported to a tempery folder on my hard drive then loaded into capture 1 processed and edited then sent to both drives and placed into which ever folder they should be placed...
Dont know why though i cant highlight the boxes eject memory card and delete files from memory card on the download screen going under file and import images...
Take care
John0
