Yep, the wheels are in motion.

I will send you an email shortly (on your gmail you have supplied to the system).

Christian, thanks for picking up the issue and looking into it!

RobiWan, Peter Gruener, NNN635125278290404489, err... Peter Gutbrod: Thanks for your hints and examples. Phase One and NVIDIA are now in touch. I don't think we could do more here for the moment.

I'd be happy to do any testing and supply logfiles, if you like.

Fixing the bug would be a win-win situation for both NVDIA to sell their GTX 980 as the first choice graphics cards to photo professionals owning a cMP and for Phase One to market Capture One as being compatible with a cMP / GTX 980 hardware setup.

I am off for 4 days of photography with limited bandwidth to answer messages or send samples. Looks like PhaseOne and NVIDIA are having a solid foundation of data to work with. If there is anything else that I may contribute as well please message me at: kontakt at gruener-fotodesign.de

    Hi Christian,

May I suggest that Phase please test the new Nvidia Pascal GTX 1080. It is suppose to release May 27th and is the next level in high performance GPU's. Regarding the GTX 980 Ti, there have been no render issues reported using DaVinci Resolve so it is probably a software issue. (I've heard that card performs best in mac OS 10.11.4)

    Hello Christian,

Any news on this? I checked (but haven't installed) the release notes for the latest beta and it is not in it.
Do you think it will make it to the next release?

    Thanks!

Can I add to this conversation that the problem also occurs with the GTX970 card in a Mac with C1 9 and OS X El Capitan - see my thread here:

    viewtopic.php?f=61&t=23899

So hopefully a fix for the 980 would also sort out the problem with the 970 and other similar NVidia cards?

    Hello,

    I found something else...
If I do a Cmd+D, the output is bound to the "processing" OpenCL setting (setting it to never gets the right pictures).
But if I do right click -> export -> variants, it uses the "display" setting for OpenCL.

Could you please change from which OpenCL setting this is read from and set any file output to the "processing" OpenCL setting? That's really confusing :p

You guys should all use their technical support form instead of the forum. They respond much faster there instead of here. Report back on what they say for future others to use as reference 😉

We just got the card, unfortunately too late for 9.2.
But things are moving forward, now that we are able to reproduce in-house.

    Hi Christian,

Very happy to read this !!! It sounds like we are finally seeing the end of tunnel hopefully 😊
Can't wait to enjoy my Nvidia 980Ti with C1.

    Hi,
Could someone tells if 9.2.1 finally solves the 980ti issue ? Thanks...

Yes, it looks very promising. Processed several RAW files with OpenCL active to JPEGs and so far no pink overlays/artefacts.
Thanks to the development team and product management team to listen to your customers and make this happen.
Now, I would love to spend more time on my 4k monitor with my MacPro and edit images!

    Youhooooo 😊
So far so good too !
As said just before THANKS a lot to Phase One for having taking care of this issue !!!!
    JPEG Export 85% Quality 100% Size, just flies with the 980Ti 😊 +- 1,1 sec / picture !

    Hello everybody,

As a follow up, as I'm considering buying a refurbished mac pro 5.1 with maybe a 980ti GPU, are you guys still happy (and fast driving!) users ?

No problem with the card's power consumption by the way ?

    Thanks!

I too would like to know how well this card is serving you.

I currently run my Mac Pro 5,1 (2.8 GHz Quad) with a Sapphire HD 7950 and even though it does help and it speeds up RAW output to JPEG tremendously, sliders still feel sticky and rotate and crop are not very fluid.

Therefore I'd be interested about others' experience.

    Thank you!

I wrote a little bit about my experience and results on a "pimped" Mac Pro with a GTX 980 Ti in this thread:
