Deleted files keep coming back when using "Synchronize" func

I have seen it now several times after I deleted files and emptied the trash the synchronize function would find new images and bring back the images that should be deleted already.

Has anyone else seen this?

    When you empty catalogue trash, do you "removed from catalog" or "delete from disc"?

    After you have done "delete from disk" have you looked using Finder to verify that it has indeed gone from the disk?

    No. I will start looking from now on. I was just wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
