How do you move from a catalog back to a session
I read somewhere that C1 7 makes it easy to go back and forth between a catalog and session yet I can't find an easy way to export the settings and previews from a folder in a catalog back into the folder so I can view it in a session window. I can't take the constant crashing and missing images in a catalog and need to go back to the more stable session workflow. I sent a support ticket to ask that question but they've been very slow to respond to my other ticket so I hope I can get a quicker answer through the C1 community. Thanks.

File - New session
Or, if you've used session before you tried catalogs, File - Open (or Open recent).0 -
HCS, thanks for your suggestion but I wasn't asking how to create a new session file. I was wondering how I could take the settings created in a catalog and move them over to a brand new session. I spent all day using the export feature to create a copy of the original file and having C1 create a settings folder. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to export the metadata so I had to do it manually for each file. XMP autosync crashes the catalog after a few seconds so it's basically useless. Plus, I've discovered that C1 doesn't write XMP files that are compatible with other software. Lightroom and Photo Mechanic can't read the star ratings from C1. I guess C1 has decided to create their own version of XMP files.
My recommendation to anyone who is reading this, do not use the catalog feature. It's riddled with bugs and there's no easy way to export files without losing all the metadata.0 -
Menu File>Export Originals
C1 will copy the RAW files and in the same process create the settings folders. Pretty bulky workaround but it works.
But beware: some stuff does not get exported that way - viewtopic.php?f=46&t=13267
My recommendation: stay away from Catalogs (for now). Way to immature.0
