Oh ... Got it from the beta site and C1 opened OK but no sign of my Catalog ... Ouch, looks like it will be Mavs for a while yet because in addition to this Canon have yet to update the printer drivers (and the generic Apple ones don't cut it). ☹️

If I was running it it would be working fine here, catalog showing, no issues at all as yet ... though I can't say one way or the other.

Of course, 8.3.3 is not officially supported on 10.11, so YMMV.

UPDATE: I emailed support and got a speedy and courteous reply. As soon as El Cap is out of beta and officially released there will be a C1 update.

    Perception management !!

"... As soon as El Cap is out of beta ..." means only after the official release, not necessarily immediately after official release. It very likely means not immediately after official release but some time later.

    They won't give an ETA.

It's fine for me, but i can already see the posts on this forum that it takes soooo long for P1 to release the update to CO for El Captain.

Nobody can predict the exact date that any third party vendor will release updates for anything, but it was nice to get the fast and "it's going to happen" response.

I'm in no hurry and won't move from Yosi until Canon and P1 release El Cap compatible updates. Any bets/guesses on which will be first 😎 ?

If you go back through the threads ( I don't suggest you do but after a while of watching what goes on here you will see what I mean) you will find that nearly always there is some sort of problem that arises between the fianl beta version and the full release. Not just a Capture One problem wither, others suffer in the same way.

It seems the major vendors are more than happy to "allow" millions of developers to patch vendor errors after a last minute change. After all, it does not cost the vendor anything. The buying public seems to have very short memories.

Waiting to see what is actually released - at all levels - and whether it seems to work without issues is something I am happy to leave to those in the vanguard of the ranks of "must have everything that is new IMMEDIATELY".

Personally I rarely feel that need.

What i most curios is if beside the El Capitan compatibility CO will take advntage of "Metal"
from what i heard that would enhance the overall performance significantly which would be really great !!
    Cheers

If you are keen to find out, you can always download the El Cap beta from the Apple web site and open C1 in it. You'll need to create a trial Catalog or Session to populate with some images to test it out.

As I posted earlier, I'm not doing anything until P1 and Canon release working drivers and I can access my existing PrintFab RIP version of the Canon printer and my existing C1 catalog.

I'm running El Capitan GM soon to be released by Apple to the public.
Unfortunately my Capture One Pro for Sony does not start anymore and I haven't found a way to make it start. A dialog window pops up asking me to select a recent session, and it disappears wishing 1 sec off the screen. That's it.
I'm running version installed from the image CaptureOne.Mac.8.3.2-4cfd.dmg.

Does anyone know how to download C1 Pro for Sony upgrade to the latest build?

Hello, no major problem with the GM version.

No stability problem, printing work correctly.

For what it is worth, I can confirm that tethering an EOS 5Diii works with both EOS Utility and CO8 on El Capitan GM. Tested on an obsolute iMac reserved for dangerous experiments and on a MacBook Air, using the Tethertools 15 ft. USB2 cable.

YMMV and don't try this if your business depends on it.

Bug found, when printing on Pixma Pro-1, in some very rare situation pictures are print completely black.

Export of theses pictures and print it with other software work.

Have Canon released updated drivers for El Cap? I can only find the generic Apple updates and these don't work properly. The same problem arose with Yosi which did not have full and reliable print functionality with the generic drivers but works great with the Canon updated ones.

I have the same problem, but with normal Pro 8.3.3 (for a Canon). I've put in a ticket, but did you get a solution?
Is anyone else doing anything special to get their copy of C1 working in the El Capitan GM?
I've tried to forcing OpenCL on or off to no avail.

Actually we can download on Canon website site version for Yosemite (11.7.1.0) but Apple have provide 2 updates in the last 2 weeks version 12.x.x.x (don't remember exact number) and actually 13.7.1.0

Don't know if these update are very stable with El Capitan.

I will try to go back to Canon version 11.7.1.0.

Anyway with the last drivers (13.7.1.0) Preview print correctly, only CO have the trouble.

EDIT : Same problem when go back to originals Canon drivers 11.7.1.0

It turns out all I needed to do was a complete uninstall (including manually deleting library plists), and then reinstall. Now it works fine.

We are currently aware of OpenCL driver related problem with Nvidia Gfx adapters on El Capitan, causing the software to crash.

We do not recommend Capture One users to update to OSX 10.11, as Capture is not yet fully compatible with El Capitan.
Full compatibility with OSX 10.11 will come soon.

It is always like this, on your phone, with other software and so forth. If a vendor does not explicitly state that they support 10.11, and you have a production environment, simply do not upgrade until the vendor says the software in question is compatible.
If you do, you are basically on your own running an unsupported OS.

As CO uses a lot of CPU and GPU specific hardware-instructions, we are very dependent on the OS and the graphics drivers. This can potentially make CO more vulnerable to changes in these, like those coming with a new iteration of an OS (that, when we are talking OSX, also means new Graphics drivers).

Rest assured that we are working on compatibility for 10.11, but due to Apples history of changing things last minute, experience tells us to wait until final release. This happened yesterday, so we are trying it out, and adapting where needed.
    Expect a service-release soon

If the incompatibility is due to Nvidia graphic cards, does that mean tat we users with Radeon cards stand a bette chance? Or should I dedicate this computer to beta testing in this one particular case?
Believe it or not, I'm willing to do it, but only if the CO engineers tell me to do so.
