Since CO8 you can have auto adjust Levels either for the RGB or respective R-G-B channels. As a result, the black and white point picker is available either for the RGB channel or the respective R-G-B channels, depending on which mode for auto adjust Levels is selected but not on both.

From the Preferences > Exposure tab > Levels Tool section you can switch channel mode between:
    - RGB channel
    - Red, Green, and Blue channels

Since the picker for black and white point moves with the selection, as mentioned, it is also an indicator for which mode you are running.

    Solution: change mode.

Tip: you can go directly to the right preference tab from the Levels tool > 3 dots at the right > Preferences

First of all, update to 8.3.1 😉

Second, go to Preferences -> Exposure -> Levels Tool, change the Channel Mode, and you get the tools you need.

@Paul and Christian: I found it and tried it, thanks. I think the auto levels does a good job, so i might not be using the color picker a lot.

Also notice that the preference setting also effects the auto adjust of the Levels.
