Issues working tethered with Canon 5D

    Make sure you don't have Canon software running at the same time as they can compete each other for access to the camera.

    In the "about" section of the app doesn't say that is the PRO version, but I couldn't find other 4.8.2 but this. I'm using a trial, as I wanted to make sure that the application has everything I need before spending my money, and in Phase One webpage said it was the PRO version. It has a menu for tethered work, so I suppouse it has to work but I'm doing something wrong.

    Because what annoys me the most is that when I plug the camera, the application launches, which to me means that capture one supports and recognizes the camera.

    And yes, I'm not using canon application at the same time and rebooted the computer several times.

    If anyone knows a tutorial where the tethered is explained step by step it would be truly apreciated, as I couldn't find any.

    You are running your CO 4.x in 'DB-mode' where DB stands for Phase One data back. This is a free license and not trial. It supports tethering for the data backs (obviously). It does not support any DSLR in this mode (either raw file processing or tethering).
    The fact that the application starts when you connect your camera has to do with a preference setting in the Image Capture program. You can switch this is if you like.

    What to do next? Deactivate the application from the program's menu, License, and start it again. If you are still within 30-days of first use, you will be able select trial - Pro.

    Please note that there is only ONE software package with CO4 (standard, Pro or DB). It is the activation that makes the difference.
