Just to complement my previous post, the creation of previews part is where everythng locks up and gets really slow, culminating in a program crash. I've disabled (set to the min. level) the noise supression option as well. If it's of any interest, my RAW files come from a Canon 300D camera.

    Follow this knowledge base article:

    http://support.phaseone.com/KB/Home/Sea ... nguageID=1

When done reinstall application with default settings and you should see clear impovements.

Thanks for the reply Ulf but it didn't work. Did what was recommended in the knowledge base but it didn't generate any improvement.

I'm starting to believe it has something to do with my hard drives. In the system I mentioned in the first post, less powerful than mine and running C1 smoothly, the IDE hard drive is primary and the SATA drive is secondary, exactly opposite to mine. Could the partitions affect the way C1 is running? With the exception of C1, all other programs, including some heavy ones like Photoshop CS2 and Acrobat Professional, are running smoothly and very fast.

    Any other ideas?
    Thank you very much

    I do not believe so.
Did you clean out it exacly as described in article? Is cache empty and application installed with standard settings?
Did you do the last thing on the page? Reboot? It is more important when you think when you are deleteing values that is loaded by OS.

Yes Ulf, followed the KB information exactly. Cache is empty, standard installation works fine. Cleaned the files, cleaned folders, cleaned registry entries, rebooted, still nothing. Load times are really slow, just as if I was loading my raw files from an old fashioned diskette. Really really slow.

    Any other ideas?

Just an update, I've downloaded the LE version and the very same problem happened. Everything was terribly slow.

One other ideas on what may be causing this?

Maybe using some of the free analysis tools from might help you in finding the problem?

For me using for example FileMon revealed some stuff going on with my hdd that I never was aware of.

Problem is, it aint easy to find anything in these information if you don't know what to look for - but you won't ever find anything without searching.
