C1 5 import from card
I have an issue when I import images from my Compact Flash card, when we start the day as soon as I plug the card in it shows up in C1, but as the day progresses there starts to be a really long time before the card shows up, so much so that I start to think that it hasn't connected at all and pull the card to try and access it.
I at 1st thought that it had to do with the laptop I was using but it happened the other day with a Mac Pro 8 core setup.
Is there any way around this? As when on a shoot things get crazy towards the end of the day and taking that extra time is worse than waiting for polaroid to process.
thanks

Could be that you card reader is over heating i find that if I unplug the Lexar Fw800 reader between cards it stays pretty fast. Could also be a permissions thing. Where are you creating your session? Sessions that are on a separate internal drive that have ignore permission set in the finder run better as the session size increases. If this isn't an option try set up the session up in the Shared folder. 0 -
Also, what are the specifics of your machine and what is the interface of the Card Reader?
I've found an increasing amount of "quarks" with the new Snow Leopard OS and the systems responsiveness to ports. This is always apparent with my USB card reader and swapping cards one after the other. The system simply takes its time to recognize and mount the card, so in my case it is a deeper issue than Capture One software. One that did not occur in Leopard. Just a thought.0 -
I have been running it on 2 different machines, one is a laptop with the intel 2 duo 3.3gz processor and maxed out at 3 gigs of ram.
The other was an Macpro tower with an 8 core processor, not sure what speed.
on the tower the session was on a separate internal volume, and I was using the pictures folder on the laptop.
I am using a firewire 800 card reader, not unplugged and I will definitely try that but the reason I'm writing is I originally thought that the issue was with my laptop not being up to snuff, but then it happened with the tower.
I'm not going directly from one card to another, there is usually at least a 15min break, it just seams to happen towards the end of the shoot.0
