Crop reverts to Unconstrained in 10.1

What I see with 10.1 is that Original and Output ratios are retained after a restart, but Square and other ratios in the list not; they revert to Unconstraint.

Seems like a bug or an intention I am not familiar with. Best to take it up with support.

I raised a support case and I have had a reply saying "You are right. This is a bug in the latest release. Let's hope for a quick fix from R & D."

    😭 😭 😭

please fix this issue. really messing with my workflow. need to keep crops from session to session and also on multiple day shoots. still reverts to unconstrained every time you quit capture one. if i don't notice or remember, i think i still have my same crop on, when in fact i don't. really frustrating and silly change.

Not so much a silly change as an unintended bug, as I understand it from the reply I had to my support case.

Further investigation proves that 10.1 forgets the crop ratio if it is one of the built-in presets like 2x3. But if I have used one of my own presets (for example I have one called A4 the fits A4 paper) then on closing and opening the app, the ratio is remembered.

    Curiouser and curiouser!

I have just created a user style with just the crop I want and no other adjustments. Work brilliantly whether there is one image on screen or several. Really speeds things up for printing to a set size.

I hope they bring this back ASAP as it was a simple feature I have wanted for years. I've been using C1 since v3 and I cant believe it took 7 versions for them to allow crop tool to remember what ratio was used the last time the program was opened. IIRC, the rotate tool also forgot which mode it was in and I would have to select rotate freehand and 2x3 crop every time I restated the program.

As far as I recall, both the rotate tool and the crop tool used to remember their settings in all previous versions. I think that it is just a bug that has crept in in version 10.1. Of course, I could be remembering wrong.

I'm sad that this fix didn't make it into v10.1.1. Maybe we'll see it in 10.1.2
