Lines/Artefacts When Using Sharpness Falloff
I'm using Capture One Pro 7.0 on a Mac Pro with 10.7.5. The software has been excellent so far, a real upgrade on v6, and has worked very well with both Leaf Aptus 22 and Nikon D800E cameras.
Today, while editing, I hit my first snag. I decided to use quite aggressive amounts of Sharpness Falloff, and noticed lines appearing in all four corners. The lines only appeared in the corners, and only in the processed file, not in the Capture One Pro 7 viewer. The lines resemble a white dotted line approx. 1 pixel wide, and form squares measuring 256x256 pixels. I don't know whether Capture One Pro divides the image into 256x256 pixel squares for processing, but some unwanted artefacts at the boundaries of such squares might be an explanation.
I reset the image and processed it again — no lines. Then I gradually applied all the corrections again, and the lines appeared after applying Sharpness Falloff. I also switched off hardware acceleration, just for good measure, and it made no difference. The lines were still there when Sharpness Falloff was used.
I rarely use Sharpness Falloff — in fact this was the first time in v7 — so it's not a desperately urgent problem, but it might be for someone else ...

See the same artifacts here. I'll contact Phase One about this. Thanks for reporting. 0
