prevent from generating previews

Can I avoid generating previews each time i open, ? when I work on 2000 pictures from my last work I have to wait one hour before C1 has finished to generate previews. It is too long, mostly when you consider the software crashes at last one or to time by session...

    That does not sound normal.

    Catalogue or session?

    C1 is very interactive and some actions may well mean that all previews in a selection or collection could be recalculated but when I change a global adjustment - for example an output recipe selection - in a session of 2000 or more images it does not prevent me working and does not take an hour to process them. It does not crash either.

    So I think you might find some help to dig into the detail of how you have things set up could help.

    The Log file could tell us much but realistically you would probably get a more complete and informed response by creating a Support Case and having the Support Team looking at the challenge for you as a starting point.

    If you are not working with files on your primary drive try putting them there for a start to see what happens to the performance.

    If they are already on the primary drive - what is your system specification? Cold that be having some effect on things?

    thank you for your answer. i bought C1 9 which does not crash. The fact they changed it so fast make me think this C1 vers. 8 was not a good one so a fair company should not make us pay the V.9.
    I'll tell you how is C1.v9 working later.
