C1 update causing maximum RAM usage?

Is anyone else noticing that C1 has all of a sudden started using all of their RAM? I'm noticing some fairly severe lag when I'm in C1, and it's with relatively standard things like cropping. I only noticed this after recently updating, I'm just running a standard macbook pro from late 2011 (with an SSD, 8gb ram)

Any suggestions? Is anyone else having the same issue?
