    Capture One 9 > Preferences > (Pop up Preferences menu) Crop > Mask >

    Now you want Opacity to be 100, and Brightness also set to 100.

    That should give you a hard white when cropping compared to the slightly opaque grey by default.

    Sorry for not explaining properly:
    What i mean is not the crop color, but the color of the "crop outside image".

    You can change the viewer color to white:

    Edit -> Preferences
    Select Appearance Tab
    In Viewer section set Color to White.

    The area outside the image is then shown in white in the viewer.

    However, if you then export the image, it is still grey.

    I think the point of cropping outside the image is that you might use it if you were intending to then fill in the "outside the image" part with something like content-aware fill, using Photoshop, Affinity, etc.

    But perhaps you knew that.
