Why do I have to pay for multiple licenses of Capture one?
This is really not consumer-wise. Why do I have to pay for two licenses (for Sony) or three if I had a camera from a different brand? And Why can't I pay in US dollars, just in Euro (I live in Israel)?
TIA

This being a User to User forum you may well attract a lot responses with your question but are not guarantee to get an official answer.
I'll have a go at an answer though.
I have no idea why the currency should make a difference to you but if it does buy from a US based retailer and pay in dollars - assuming they offer an international service. As we are talking download not box shipment, where you buy should not make much difference. In any case you will be paying in whatever currency you use for the account you use to make the payment. The exchange rate may vary a little but it is unlikely to be a huge effect. If you are paying in dollars for a Euro price the chances are you will get a result in your favour for the exchange rate.
Do you have a local retailer who would take dollars?
As for the licences - I think you are seeing thing back to front.
For personal use the licence is, at least in theory, only usable by one person at a time.
That person may have more than one device.
They could go through a process of moving the software about to use different machines (or if not the software then the activations) but that would be a hassle. So Phase, in common with many other software vendors with their applications (that are not operating systems and not "enterprise" software) allow people to install on more than one machine and not have the annoyance of changing activation details all the time.
This used to be 2 activations per licence. With V9 (iirc) 3 activations were allowed for the Full Pro licence. That the Sony Pro remained at 2 activations reflected, one assumes, the significant discount available on that licence (compared to the full Pro version for all supported cameras) and the fact that Express for Sony is free should anyone need a third machine with some sort of functionality on it.
Does that help to explain things?

Kinda...
Look, I am an amateur photographer, not a professional, and need it for my personal use only. I will 95% use it only on my computer, and do not want to pay for extra licenses. As for local retail stores which sell Capture One - don't know, don't think there are any. And, even if there were, the local currency in Israel is neither US dollar or Euro so it does not matter anyway.0 -

Not being a Pro is not unusual.
I would guess many Pro's would not be too bothered about buying multiple licences - it's a business expense and there are volume discounts for the big studios buying multiple seats.
Don't forget you also get free technical support.
If cost is a real issue and the buy in price is too high for you (price of a cheap lens?) then there is always the Open Source product ranges to consider. There's some good stuff out there for the occasional user.
I would still buy C1 though. I gel with it. Others may not.
And I see the marketing reason behind the number of activations available in a licence and find it OK. Makes not difference to me - I only have it installed on one machine. But there are many out there who have a machine at their home or office and take an laptop on the road. I do that - but not for running C1.
As for buying - there is a Phase partner in Israel. But if you want to pay in USD (presumably through a US financial institution?) you could just as easily check out a US based partner.
There is a "Find a Partner" function on the Phase web site home page. Some partner are active here in the forum from time to time.
If you seek out the web page of an Capture One Ambassador you may even find a discount code that you can use - though that might mean paying a Euro price and awaiting the currency conversion before you know the exact amount in dollars.
Hey, it could be worse and more confusing. The web price could in Krone!
