Although this request has already been voiced and also submitted via the "sure to be read" support case channels, it does bear repetition until such time as this essential feature (akin to Lightroom auto-masking) is implemented.

I agree. Aperture has a detect edges feature that is fantastic and fast. Would love to see this in Capture One.

That is certainly a feature I'd find useful

Ralph, I am not that confident my support case requests are actually making it through to the developers and that is why I thought I would post here as well.

I am a PC user but I feel this request should be universal and cross-platform! Having said that, I'd like to express concern. When ever C1PRO comes out with a new release, it becomes "bloaty" and system intensive. I don't know about you all, but I have been using C1PRO since its 3.7.8 PRO days and although I don't have a super hardware then (or now), version 3.7.8 PRO was flying on my then 4 GB XP Profession version Pentium 4 HT.

I would *love* to add my name to the request to make the C1PRO local adjustment brush more efficient.

Has any of you submitted an official case to P1 tech?

All bugs, feature requests and feedback sent via a support case is catalogued by the supporter and forwarded to the Developers. There is no doubt about it.
They're a busy department so they prioritize as necessary, and the more cases we have requesting a feature the more references there are to that improvement. With a higher demand comes a higher likelihood of supply so keep the support cases coming.

Thanks Drew, I wasn't aware that everything goes to the developers as the support people never tell me that. Usually the replies I get go something like this:
    a) This wouldn't be an issue if you had a medium format back
    b) You can get the results you want with the existing highlight & shadow sliders,
    c) You overexposed the images
And I won't deny any of the above, but I still would like a more versatile adjustment brush, and I send another email asking to please forward my request to the developers and then they tell me they will.

    Rick
