Resetting changes rating to no star

I am having issues that when I reset adjustments it automatically resets the image star rating to 0.

Running 8.0.1 and am running Mavericks. This also seems to be affected by colour picking.

Any ideas?

    Strange. Can not copy that behaviour. How do you reset, Cmd+R?
