Panasonic FZ300 not supported - Workaround

The Panasonic FZ200 is supported for a long time.
Now it's December and Capture One 11 is out but still no Panasonic FZ300 support. How hard can it be to add this?
Both cameras have a similar sensor (same resulution, higher ISO) and seemingly the same lens.

I tried to rename the two occurrences of FZ300 in Panasonic's RW2 file to FZ200 using a HEX editor and surprise - I can import them into CO with no obvious issue.

So why does Phase one not respond to potential customer demand?

  • For those of you who want to automate the find/replace process (Windows/MacOS):
  • Download freeware Swiss File Knife: https://sourceforge.net/projects/swissf ... rce=navbar

  • Create a batch file (e.g. FZ300_2_FZ200.bat) similar to this:
    C:\Download\sfk189.exe rep -pat /FZ300/FZ200/ -dir . -file .rw2 -yes
    Pause

  • Copy the batch file into the folder containing the RW2 raw files and execute it


    • Hope this helps others with the same camera.
