Import dialog does not show TIFF or JPG previews?
When I import images in JPG or TIFF format from a folder, the previews of those images are not shown - I just get the title and a blank square the the preview should be.
If I import one of those images, it is added to the catalog properly and I can see the thumbnail in the browser.
Am I doing something wrong with the import dialog?
Has anyone else see this happen?

No one? 0 -
check you don't have a global filter set to exclude them. 0 -
No filter. I see the square the preview should be in and the file name. But no preview. 0 -
The same thing happens with me - so we're either both doing something wrong or it's a bug. I've not got a solution though unfortunately. 0 -
So bacically you are not getting previews generated?
How many files in folder, just curios as it happened to me ones, but after closing catalog not appeared again.0 -

The lack of previews is just within the import dialog, once they're actually imported they preview fine. I'd typically have 5 tiffs per 100 RAW in an import.0 -
I have just had a look (using the Windows version of C1P V9) at importing some TIFF files that were created with a Nikon Coolscan and I am getting the same effect - no previews in the Import window, just a black space and the filename.
I had a look at one of the TIFF files and it doesn't appear to contain an embedded thumbnail, I suspect that C1 needs one to be able to display anything before it has imported the whole file.0 -
C1 has always have issues to display Tiff. Specially if they are big and multi layers. Did you try to wait a few minutes the import window opened ? 0 -

Yes, I've waited quite some time. These particular TIFFs are about 500 or 600 MB with no layers.0 -
I find this also, but I am still on C1 8. 0 -
This happens to me too when I import film scans. It’s a nuisance, but it’s not difficult to just import the whole batch and then delete the ones I don’t want from the catalog. Should be fixed though. 0 -
I have same problem. It is confusing because i am not sure the files I want will be imported. 0 -
I just found the same issue, I tried to import some jpg files from my desktop and they don't show up in the import window. They are fine once imported. I haven't seen this while importing from a card. 0
