RAW captures vanished: Has this ever happened to you?
I'm using 3.7.8 on a mac pro running OS 10.5.2. I had just done about 8 tethered RAW captures with my 1DsM2. I throw some away and process the 3 final images. I try to open Bridge to rename the jpegs when Bridge crashes. I try to restart the computer and it won't shut down so I do a forced shut down and then restart the computer. Upon restart there seems to be no trace what-so-ever that the files ever existed. I used all kinds of search techniques to look for the raws or jpegs. I've experienced numerous system crashes over the years of using C1Pro but have never lost images.
Any clues what may have happened?

I've seen this behavior before when applications need to be force-quitted without there being enough time to have written the changes you made to the index. So what's happening is when you reboot you're back to the state you were before any of this ever happened. This doesn't seem like a specific issue related to C1, but part Bridge and OS that had a hangup and a chain reaction. Next time rather than rebooting the entire system, check the activity monitor and try to find the task that has quit responding. It's better to bring tasks down one at a time to reduce the risk of this sort of data loss. 0 -
