download time tethered rebel 300d or faster
Hi
I have client requiring quick download time (shooting food in studio,
often melting ice cream so seconds count for approval of shot)
I tried canon rebel 300d but down load time was about 45 seconds.
Phase one tech support estimated closer to 5-10 seconds.
I used usb cable from canon, g5 dual processor, capture one 373.
Is there a way to make the transfer faster?
If not which is best canon to use for least amount of money? (cheap client)
I understand the firewire canons will be fastest (1ds, 1dsmarkII,1dsmark II n)
but will 5d or 30d work or will download time also be more than a few seconds?
I have not yet found a resource which compares file transfer rates
camera to computer and this may be the information I need?
thank you in advance,

My suggestion would be if you are going cheap but want good quality is to find a Lightphase or H5 on eBay or simular and a Hasselblad 500.
This will give you outstanding image quality and it shoots quite fast.
You will have images on the screen with in a couple of seconds.
The camera back will shoot 16-bit RAW files (65000 colours) instead of the Canons 12-bit (4000 colours) and then lenses.... dont even get me started 😊0 -
Thank you Ulf for ebay equipment suggestions. I will investigate hassie and h5.
I confess I always owned mamiya in past and needed to sell all of them to buy monster computers.
Can you confirm my assumption, a 1dmark II would produce an image on
screen in a couple of seconds as well?
And 1ds, 1dsmarkII,1dsmark II n would be equal if not faster than the
1dmarkII?
best,

Yes they will, but a used H5/H10/H20 will give far better result for the same or less money. 0
