Organizing Catalog -
I need some help, I am looking to move my catalogs from Lightroom and iPhoto but I need some help with organizing images in C1.
I have one catalog in both and there are organized as (year, month, event)
YYYY
YYYY.MM
YYYY.MM.Event_Name
How can I do this, when I move them all images are under Folders -> Catalog.
Thanks

Regarding the Lr catalog, have you imported it as a catalog, or have you imported the image folders? Importing the Lr catalog into a CO8 catalog would allow you to retain the structure.
Regarding the iPhoto catalog, there is no iPhoto library importer in CO8, so I assume you imported the image folders.
When you imported the images and their folders in regular way through the Import Images dialog, you have to create the structure of year, month and event manually in the User Collections section.
If you like to learn more about the ins-and-outs of the CO8 catalog, there are video tutorials from Phase One. In addition, my blogs on catalogs might help you too at http://imagealchemist.net/tag/catalog/0 -

....As Apple have combined the iPhoto and Aperture libraries, doesn't that mean that all the files can be imported to CO8?
Of course, if you have installed the latest Mac OS which includes their confusingly named 'Photos' app, this may be different.0 -

Hi Paul,
I did not upload it as LR catalog, i have just uploaded folders but I think I did something wrong since all the photos ended up in one folder - but after reading your blog I did another update and now I have folder structure under Folders->Catalog.0 -

I dont think they are combined since you need to convert/import Aperture/iPhoto library to new Photos...The new app still looks like early beta version with missing features.0
