Any issues with EIP?
Recently I've entered a CO raw editing competition on the web. I shared an EIP file through Google Drive because of its size, almost 270MB. The published output image was lacking two clone layers so I got in touch with the owner of the site telling and showing him what was missing. He then showed me that his CO was indeed rendering my file that way even though all of the layers were there (but strangely their order was inverted).
So I downloaded back my EIP file and opened it on my two computers and they both rendered it correctly, exactly like the original one. However after processing both of them by myself, I noticed that the removal tool had not been applied to the output jpg. After unpacking everything seems fine. I packed them again and everything seems fine too.
My computer really struggled with 16 layers and 16 masks (I rasterized all of them) and both CO and Windows crashed several times. I don't know if something may have gone wrong during packing (but this wouldn't explain the discrepancy between my two computers and his) or if there's a reliability problem with EIPs.
Any experiencies?

Had the other user of the web competition a Mac? Had he unpacked the EIP? 0 -
Lol 16 Layers.
Don't think about to rotate the image, that will stutter. 😊
I really hope that we will get soon an update that will fix CPU usage and Performance and also increase Perfomance with layers.
If not i have to rethink my processing, but thats not easy.
Techgage did Bench CO and did also run into problems with layers and cpu usage.
They did bench the 9900K 8 Core 5ghz CPU u d the 32 Core Monster from AMD and both performed the same at creating layers.0 -

He did not mention but he has got a YouTube channel on CO where he uses a Mac. I think he opened my EIP with it and I can say from the portion of the screenshot that he sent me that he didn't unpack it. Maybe this could explain the discrepancies even though there shouldn't be any. But I myself have had problems with my own EIP so I'm still confused.[quote="Tom-D" wrote:

First of all I'm going to try to rotate my image as soon as possible 😂
Yes, 16 layers but I had to use 4 just to remove a couple of things. Actually 3 of them were needed to remove just one object because of the limited capabilities in healing and cloning. The other were mostly for selective edits.
I had read your topic on exploding RAM and seen your pictures too. I've had a lot of problems with it (my monitor even shut down and started blinking more than once) but I've got only 8GB of RAM on an 8 years old i7 so I did not reply. My PC can manage CO fine in a basic editing with a few layers but If I open PS or Chrome at the same time it's the end.
I was thinking to buy a new computer but after your message I'm even more confused and unsure on what to take. Fortunately (or not) I'm not a pro.0 -
@ClauS
Update to my case.
Ram usage remains at 14 GB while Exporting.

PC Consideration:
My Girlfriend has a Photostudio, her PC, almost the same as mine (See Signature), uses allways 30 GB of Ram.
She does not use CO, but a lot of other Software, to Process her images, at the same Time.
So with a 8 Core 4 ghz + and 16+ gigs of Ram (Better 32 Gigs) you have a good machine.
And i think PO will fix the issue with the Layers soon.0 -

Thank you. The fact is that I should have to decide between a desktop and a laptop. I would prefer a laptop 'cause I make music too and the music studio is in another room. Also I could bring it with me when I'm away but a laptop with such high specs would really cost a lot and as I said I'm not a pro. Actually, I'm not even working right now so maybe I'd better keep using my laptop as much as I(t) can and then make my Surface suffer too before buying something new.0
