A question best asked of Adobe.
If they provide a migration tool, then you're all set.

Your best option is properly to export your images to LR as TIFF, which cause a storage increase about 400%. I don't think you can expect Adobe to fully understand the C1 XMP format. XMP contains propritary blocks of data.

Or you can do as I. Use the best from both worlds. The detail and sharpness is second to none in C1. In comparison LR/ACR is blurry where C1 is razor sharp. On the other side, LR is outstanding in organization, publishing, export and printing. Ans are you a keywordoholic, the hierarchy keyword in LR is a real timesaver.

    My workflow contains both products:

Import to C1 -> Select in C1 -> Post-process in C1 -> Export to TIFF and PSD (if edit in PS is needed)
Import TIFF & PSD in LR -> Keywording & Metadata in LR -> Organization in LR via Smart Collections -> Export & Print in LR

    Kind regards

well to be ones, i download LR because to get better DAM function works to C1 8 !
C1 has a very poor DAM workflow inside.
but i can still say, that C! is very stronger than LR, and it don't make since having both to my Workflow
thats way i decided now to deinstall LR...
then i bayed Media Pro because it is a DAM Pro Program and also come from the same vendor " Phase One "
    BUT sorry aaaah 😂 😂 .. it dosen't support C1 8 ... who cares about it. just wait .
