import sessions into catalog

Hi guys,

Just installed version 8 and it really rocks!
I make sessions for every shoot and want to build a big catalog with all of my sessions for search.

What I have noticed is that when I edit photo's and change stuf on one of the sessions these changes will be don in the catalog instead of the session itself. I was hoping the session import is some sort of liked version to the session and when I edit files in a session it will be forwarded to the catalog and visa versa.

Second question is when I import a session into the catalog there will be an user collection made with all the folders of the session. But when I go into the folder structure you will see
-> MACINTOSH HD
->>Capture
->>Output
->>Selects

Instead of
-> MACINTOSH HD
-->>Session name
--->>Capture
--->>Output
--->>Selects

For one session imported there's no problem but doing importing multiple sessions and only getting capture, output and select folders it will be a big mess.

Maybe I am doing something wrong here?

  Your observation is correct. There is no active sync between adjustments made in catalog and adjustments made in session for imported sessions (or any other import). There is a Synchronize Folder feature in CO8, but that has another purpose. Importing a session into a catalog is a migration step, going one way from session to catalog.

  In the Library tool, click at the top-right on the "..." symbol > Show Folder Hierarchy

  Sorry for the late reply, i didn't get an email that there was an reply at all?!?
  Anyhow.. great to hear about the session import. Also the right click option (just like in lightroom)
  
  Another question.. working with sessions is really nice.. but yeah I do change stuff later and it will reflect the option when I am using a catalog since there's no sync.
  So what if I do want to work with sessions and want to search photo's from this year?!? Will Media Pro be a better solution the CO8 for this purpose?

  In your particular scenario Media Pro might be a better option. I like to make a note though.
  
  Media Pro 1.4.2 is able to show adjustments you made in CO7 sessions because it has the CO7 engine built-in. There is currently no CO8-aware version of Media Pro. So yes, this scenario might work for you as from today without Media Pro showing the adjustments, just the initial raw file.

  Thanks Paul for your reply. Since I am starting at version 8 I'll wait a bit for the updated version of Media Pro
