    Have you been here already? Seems like the same question to me.

    My experience is one of frustration to say the least, it is extremely unreliable in many areas. If you are running it OK, please let me know, I would like to see a full report on you system, perhaps you can send me a 'system profile' file; to look for possible conflicts.

    Cheers

    I feel your pain. After spending sometime on this site, moving back to ver 4.6 and following Paul's suggestions, I now am comfortable with CO4. It crashes less often--every now and then when processing out a file. PhaseOne is improving the program and I'm going to stick with it as new versions roll out. The bottom line for me is CO renders details better than LR2, CS4, or Capture NX2.

    For me, absolutely not. v4 has been nothing but a headache. I'm re-posting from this thread on the v3 forum, because I'm really getting tired of Phase One's seeming denial about the problems in v4.

    I have had several lengthy conversations (through the Support Portal), and am up to here with being advised to try putting files on different disks, deleting caches, and so on. v4 needs major surgery, and I for one want to know when it's going to get it.

    ==========
    My reply to the definitive statement that newer cameras will never be supported in v3:
    ==========

    In that case, how about an honest and open statement of when we can expect v4 to approach the stability and performance of v3.7.9? Do you acknowledge that there are real issues? Do you have a plan to address them?

    As this forum amply demonstrates, v4 has failed to be the upgrade your professional users needed. Until recently, I have simply avoided using v4, but as more clients bring in work on the 5DMkII and D3X, it's no longer a choice I can make.

    I have just spent another fun hour deleting preferences, caches and default libraries, trying the various releases (v4.5.2, v4.6 and v4.6.1) and shuffling RAW files between locations on my network and local drives, all in the hope of getting a mere half-hour of uninterrupted work done. It hasn't happened.

    Your frank comments will be much appreciated.

    I am also seeing very frequent crashes with both v. 4.6.1 and 4.6 on a new Macbook running Leopard. I have tried various recommendations such as deactivating, re-installing, deleting .col45 files, deleting the whole Capture One library, deleting preferences, etc, but still see frequent crashes. I also tried to import pictures into the Capture One library, instead of accessing them in my own directory structure, as I am used to, and that seems to reduce the crash rate with v. 4.6 - but it still crashes sometimes. Very frustrating! I have not experienced other programs on my Mac that crash this often!

    I would recommend that other people seeing crashes with these versions also post here, so we can see how wide-spread the problem is.

    Worked OK for the chap I was watching on the Phase One stand at Focus on Tuesday, so there is one happy owner 😄

    I have had excellent fun doing the same deleting caches and plists. I can only get it to export one file before it crashes. I bought v4 can i downgrade to v3.7.9 just get some files processed?

    V3.7.9 is available at least as 30 days trial. Just try your V4 key to activate V3... I think it should work.

    I have managed to stablise C1 v4.6.3. It seems that any session that i had created on 4.5.2 crashed the new version. I can add images to the batch process using my old session but use a new session to process them.

    Creating new sessions seem to work in v4.6.3

    I hope this helps for all those who have multiple crashes with batch processing.
