Processing scanned TIFs
Hi!
I've just bought C1 last week because of the great results it delivers while processing my E-P1 raw files.
I'd like to use it also to process scanned black-and-white film. I'm scanning it in 16 bits grayscale, saved in TIF files. Even if C1 shows the images, their thumbnail has the "read only" eye icon and I can't do anything with them... Colour TIF files, however, work fine.
Anyone has the same issue? Is there some workaround?
Thanks,
Rui

CO4 can show multiple types of TIFF/JPEG files like RGB, CMYK, Grayscale, but it can (apparently) only adjust RGB type. Workaround is to output your scans in RGB TIFFs and convert your Grayscale to RGB. 0 -
Thank you, that's probably the only option but the files will be up to three times larger...
I think I'll do my scanning workflow like this:
1. Photoshop Elements:
- scanning as 48 bits
- saving as 48 bits RGB TIF files
2. Capture One
- selection, exposure adjustments, etc.
- output to 24 bits RGB TIF (compressed)
3. Photoshop Elements
- clone brush to remove dust
4. Capture One
- convert 24 bits TIF to JPEG
Ufff... Couldn't it be easier?0
