Support for new cameras
Hi,
after the release of C1 v. 7.0 I'd like to know how are chances that there will be support of new(er) camera models in a v. 6.4.x ? Since all older camera models are supported by v. 7.0 I could imagine that the anounced support (even preliminary) of recent camera models would work in v. 6.4.4 too. Obviously without the fancy new features of v. 7.0. But at least providing this possibility would mean not being forced right now to do the upgrade to v. 7.0 for working on RAW files from models like the Sony A99 or Sony RX100. Afterall, the step up to v.7.0 would require at least for me some heavier investment in hardware that meets at least the minimum requirements for V. 7.0 (no more 32bit, no more XP). I'm aware that a hardware and OS upgrade may be long overdue. But while I'd be very interested in the support of RAW files of the mentioned camera models, I'm not willing to be among those who encounter the most varied difficulties trying to work with a brand new software and its possible/probable inicial quirks and need for refinements. Considering all this I'd like to kindly ask Phase One to release a v. 6.4.5 which includes as its only new feature the support of newer camera models, as this would allow later this year / beginning of 2013 for a much smoother transition to a then already well estabilished v. 7.x
Cheers, M. Fritzen

Anything is possible but at present our focus is on Capture One 7. If we have time to evaluate such a request we certainly will.0 -
Hi Drew,
thanks for the reply. Sounds encouraging for an alternative route - at least for some more time. I wish P1 the very best for v. 7.0 which I'll adopt too for certain over the next months.

Yes - the theme is really important.
I am the owner of the camera Pentax K-30 and would love to purchase Capture One Pro, but for the seventh version I have to upgrade the hardware, but it is quite expensive.
I would like you to be released version 6.5, or 6.4.5, or 6.4.4.1 - fully complies with version 6.4.4, but with the new cameras.
I think these people will be a lot of ... 😊0 -
We can wait and keep our patience in waiting for Capture One 6.5 32 bit version with support new cameras.
New software is cool. But, as you understand, dear Phase One, a lot of users have 32-bit OS. Still use and don't think to change it...You should be attentive for the needs of your users and photo amateurs who really like your brainchild - Capture One. The best software for RAW files.
We are patiently waiting for Capture One 6.5 for Win XP SP3 32 bit and Win 7 32 bit.
Really need support of Ricoh A16 DNG module, Pentax Q10, K-01 (DNG), K-30 (DNG), K-5IIs and K-5II cameras. And new cameras from Photokina 2012.
Be merciful to us. 😊0 -
I am also waiting for a new v6.x.x with support for newer cameras. I can not justify the cost and also really want to move up to V7 Pro. My PC is Windows 32 bit only so V7 Pro is not an option. Otherwise I think I will evaluate LR4.2. 0 -
I have Win 7 32 bit at notebook and Win XP SP3 32 bit at my PC.
Notebook is almost new. Bought 1 year ago. My PC has a lot of important programs and programs for my bussiness. It's hard to upgrade to new OS without problems.0 -
I would also love to upgrade to version 7 but my system is only 32 bit and therefore there is no upgrade path for me, I have recently upgraded my camera and can no longer import and work with RAW files as the new camera is not supported, please can we have a version 6 upgrade? There are certainly enough requests to justify it! 0 -
Sorry but we cannot provide this.
Capture One 6 is discontinued in terms of features. Please update your machine as a 32 bit system simply does not allow for enough RAM access to provide effective performance.0
