Ultra Mobile device to run capture One?

For v4 at least, the screen resolution on that Sony is below the minimum spec, and with only 32GB of storage available, there wouldn't be much room for photos.

I can't recall the minimum specs for v3, but 3.5 years ago my main PC was a Fujitsu P5020 sub-notebook (res of 1280x768 which is, again, too low for v4 due to the odd requirement to have a min height of 800 scanlines) and it ran fine. From memory it'd take 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds as per my current laptop to develop each RAW, but I usually go and do something while it was batch processing, so it was never a problem for me (in fact it was a great workhorse!).

You need the right tools for the right job. The UPMC is not the right tool.

Has anyone got a very small (UMPC like the Sony VGN-UX1XN) laptop or device to run Capture one V3 or V4?

Doesnt it depend on the job? The job for me was to find the smallest device possible that can display P1 raw files, not edit just display. No storage device can as far as i know, but maybe a UMPC can run C1 v3 possibly? Maybe someone has one and can try it? I know I can use the back itself, but not while I'm recharging batteries, out at the pub etc I know a small laptop will work, but they are expensive and bulkier than I wanted. Its a shame my Archos cant display the raw files.....it does say on the P1 website that the backs can shoot jpg's; I find that very misleading as if it could then there wouldnt be a problem viewing any files.

    Hi Mike,

I believe The Epson viewers will show the embedded tiff in the P1 raw file. You could also consider the MacBook Air, which would be powerful enough to also work on the files (screen will fit both 3.7.7 and 4.0. Of course there are also the little Sony Vaios which I'm sure will work great with 3.7.7.

Are you sure about the Epsons? I understood they only show embeded jpg's. The Vosonic devices show tiffs, but they havent tested it with P1 files yet. The Sony Vaios are quite expensive for what they are, as I only want to confirm exposure and focus and then move on to the next shot to review.

You know I am not sure about the epsons... could have sworn I read somewhere that they did, but I cannot find it. I did find that the porter Elite will display Phase files, although it just shows the embedded preview so you cant really check focus.
